Oak Wilt Found in Bayfield County

Oak wilt was first found in 2018 and is most commonly spread along road rights-of-way. It can often be prevented and controlled if NO damage (cutting, pruning, mowing) is done to an oak tree from April 15th through July 15th.

Early oak wilt symptoms.

Oak wilt can kill a tree in 3 to 4 weeks after first symptoms.
