Gordon MacQuarrie Pilgrimage

This very popular event was first held in September 2016 by Dave Thorson and was attended by guests from near and far. Dan Small, from Outdoor Wisconsin, attended and filmed much of this first event. Unfortunately, Dave passed away in December of that year, but the Barnes Area Historical Association decided to continue this annual event dedicated to Dave’s memory. It will be held August 28 – 30 this year. They’ve added an optional canoe tour on the Brule River. Gordon’s favorite trout fishing spot was the scene of many stories he wrote about the escapades of “The Old Duck Hunters Association” on the river.
