The Family Fun Day will be hosted by the Brule River State Fish Hatchery (click on Brule Hatchery to learn more) on Saturday June 2nd from 10 AM to 3 PM. The event will be held in cooperation with the Brule River Sportsman’s Club, Brule River State Forest (click on BRSF for more information), Wisconsin Wildlife Federation (click on WWF), Wild Rivers Trout Unlimited (click on TU), Douglas County Fish & Game League (click on Fish & Game), Western Lake Superior Trolling Association (click on WLSTA), Natural Resources Research Institute (click on NRRI), Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Brule and Lake Superior Fisheries Management, Brule Fire Team, University of Wisconsin Extension – Aquatic Invasive Species, and Wisconsin Trails Association. Family Fun Day provides many activities such as: fish printing, fly tying, fly casting, archery, turkey calling demonstration, hatchery tours, fire suppression equipment displays, fish filleting demonstration, electro-fishing demonstrations, and canoe trips down the Brule River. All events are free of charge except if you need a T-shirt for fish printing (they sell for $5.00).
