Wisconsin DNR monitored upstream trout and salmon migration with digital video equipment from July 1 through Dec. 15, 2020. Steelhead comprised 49% of the total fall trout and salmon run. The size ranges among the species were comparable to previous years. Most steelhead (84%) ranged from 20 to 25-inches, and nearly 7% were 12 to 17-inches. Coho salmon generally ranged from 19 to 22-inches long, with larger fish in the 23 to 26-inch range; one chinook salmon measured 38 inches. The majority of brown trout were 18 to 24-inches long.
