The Wisconsin DNR monitored upstream trout and salmon migration with digital video equipment from July 1 through November 30, 2019. The 6,497 steelheads counted represented 45% of the total fall trout and salmon run. As is typical on the Brule, the steelhead run slowed significantly in late October with cold water temperatures. Two brook trout, 8 pink salmon, 9 splake, and 5,679 brown trout were also counted.
