The Wisconsin DNR has completed a draft of a new management plan for Lake Superior. The fisheries management Plan takes a broad look at the fisheries and fish communities of Lake Superior and establishes objectives for future management. It incorporates input from diverse stakeholders including representatives from sport, commercial, and tribal fisheries, conservation groups, academia, tourism, and land and water conservation.
They want our input on the draft. The department will hold 2 meetings to continue to work with stakeholders on the Plan. These will be held in:
Superior: Peter Rich Community Center (1201 N 8th Street) on September 16, 2019 at 6 PM, and in
Ashland: Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center (29270 Co Hwy G) on September 17, 2019 at 6 PM.
Comments will be accepted on the Plan through October 20, 2019.
